I am an artist who enjoys working with multiple mediums although I have two primary pursuits.

In my mosaic work I create images by cutting art glass and assembling the pieces in a layered mosaic technique which is a way of 'painting with glass'.

My printmaking work requires a more free-flowing process where images can be created with layers of inks. This is particularly true with my monoprints.

While these two mediums may seem disparate, they both evoke what I want to express by creating a 'depth of feeling'. Lately I have been exploring ways to combine both mediums in one piece.

Background

My printmaking skills came from courses with Dan Weldon and Jonathan Fabricant. This training included a ten-day seminar and exhibition in Mykonos, Greece with Dan and Japanese printmaker Takiji Kubo. My mosaics were developed through a series of workshops with mosaic artists Cynthia Fisher, Libby Hintz and Laura Rendlen.

I am a certified Visual Arts Teacher and Art Librarian. My past professional experience included teaching prospective teachers at Suffolk CC College in Selden, NY. I currently reside on the East End of Long Island, NY and continue to experiment with mediums including painting and photography.

My work has been shown and sold in juried shows primarily at the Long Island Museum in Stony Brook, NY, Gallery North in Setauket, NY, The Art League of Long Island in Dix Hills, NY, Atelier in St. James, NY, The Huntington Arts Council in Huntington, NY, The Bayard Cutting Arboretum in Oakdale, NY among other venues.
